Boost
(Maths and English Acceleration)

Weekly small-group boost sessions are planned and delivered by an experienced primary school teacher. The aim of these sessions is to build confidence and aptitude in English and Mathematics in a fun, practical way.

At a Boost session, your child will work towards mastering national curriculum expectations in English and Maths through a range of hands on activities, which differ from week to week.

The activities have been designed so that children are learning without realising. A cooking activity, for instance, will expose them not only to reading scales, but also working with large numbers or decimals, ratio/fractions and maths problems. As the children will be guided through these sessions by an experienced teacher, misconceptions can be addressed in the moment and challenging questions can be asked to extend their learning.

Benefits of group tuition

  • It’s fun! Children motivate and learn from each other.

  • Children continue to foster their independence and confidence tackling tasks without 1:1 support.

  • A small dose of healthy competition helps children get the best out of themselves.

  • Helps children develop the ability to work collaboratively with others of a similar age.

  • Same top quality tuition at a more economical price than 1:1 lessons.
